How it works

Done at the job, then forget about it.

Every load you take needs a waste transfer note. Loadnote turns the pad in the van into something you finish before the customer has closed the door.

Fill in the note

Pick the waste from a short list and the right code fills itself in. The address comes from the job.

The customer signs

They sign on your phone with a finger. No carbon paper, no pen that won't work in the rain.

It's sent and kept

A copy goes to the customer by email, and yours is kept for two years, ready to show if anyone asks.

Why switch

Paperwork that keeps you on the right side of the rules.

Find any note in seconds

Search two years of notes by customer, address or date. No digging through a glovebox when the council or the Environment Agency asks.

Ready for digital tracking

Defra plans to make carriers report every load through approved software. Loadnote is being built for it, so you won't need anything else.

Planned for October 2027. Not yet law, and the date may move.

Works with no signal

Fill in and sign notes in a basement or a back garden. They send themselves when you're back in signal.

Price

One simple price per van.

No set-up fee and no contract. Your first month is free, and you can stop whenever you like.

£19
a van, a month. Or £190 a year, two months free.

Questions

Good to know.

Is a note on a phone allowed?

Yes. A waste transfer note can be paper or electronic, as long as it has the right details and you keep it for two years. Loadnote records everything the duty of care asks for.

Is digital waste tracking the law yet?

Not for carriers. Reporting started for permitted waste sites on 1 October 2026. Defra's plan is for carriers to follow from October 2027, once the rules are published. We'll tell everyone on the list if the date moves.

Do I still need my waste carrier registration?

Yes. Loadnote keeps your notes. Your registration stays with the Environment Agency, NIEA, SEPA or Natural Resources Wales, wherever you work.

When does it open?

In 2027. Leave your email and you'll hear the day it does, with your first month free.

Ditch the pad in the van.
